Samsung secara rasminya telah melancarkan Galaxy J2 yang menyertai 3 lagi telefon pintar dibawah siri ini iaitu J1, J5 dan J7. Siri Galaxy J ini adalah model telefon pintar dengan harga yang berpatutan.
Sesuai dengan pasaran, Galaxy J2 telah dilancarkan secara rasmi di India dan hadir dengan ciri penjimatan data yang dikenali sebagai ‘Ultra Data Saving Mode’ yang berasakan aplikasi penjimatan daripada Opera iaitu Opera Max.
Menurut Opera, teknologi pengoptimasian data ini mampu memberikan penjimatan sehingga 50% dan mengurangkan pengunaan RAM sehingga 11%. Teknologi ini mengurangkan pengunaan data bagi aplikasi seperti YouTube, Instagram, atau Vine. Selain itu, fungsi ‘Ultra Data Saving’ pada Galaxy J2 akan membolehkan pengguna untuk menghalang pengunaan data selular bagi aplikasi tertentu.
